Online Accessible E-Book for school-going children including children with disabilities

Young Power in Social Action (YPSA)

The project will revolutionize learning for all students by using previous experience with the APNIC Foundation, implemented by YPSA, a Bangladeshi organization that has been implementing developmental work for four decades.

For an estimated 10-15% of the persons with disabilities population in Bangladesh, there has been a lack of accessible reading materials and inadequate learning resources. The proposed project aims to promote educational inclusion by developing and distributing accessible e-books to students including persons with all kinds of disabilities. Supporting the targets of SDG-4, the project will eliminate discrimination, achieve universal literacy and upgrade inclusion. So, an upgraded version of accessible reading materials & platforms for all school-going children including students with disabilities will be developed.

Project Goals: Ensuring the rights to inclusive and remote educational facilities for school-going children in Bangladesh including students with disabilities (Grades 1-10) that will cover:

  • Introducing the web and mobile platforms;
  • Enhancing learning experiences for all students;
  • Empowering 1 million students & persons with disabilities;
  • Establishing a sustainable framework for continuing accessibility and inclusive education;
  • Reducing the educational disparities;
  • Ensuring equal chance to succeed.
