Myanmar Internet Exchange Association Inc. (MMIX)
Myanmar Internet Exchange (MMIX) is a member-based, not-for-profit organization. Previously, they had only one Internet Exchange Point (IXP) in Yangon.
They built this exchange with the machines donated by organizations. Later, they purchased some equipment via member fees. But, with a limited budget, they were unable to replace their old route-server and also needed an additional server for a new IXP planned for Mandalay City.
MMIX applied to the APNIC Foundation for a server which is now in operation.
The new server will be used as a route server and for other IXP applications, such as IXP Manager and monitoring applications.
