Project complete! Adversarial Machine Learning Attacks in Wireless Networks

Did you know that artificial intelligence / machine learning can be used to enhance Wi-Fi effectiveness? It can monitor the many variables affecting the transmission speed and make adjustments to ensure everything is working well.

But there is a dark side to this – by the exact same logic, machine learning can be used to monitor Wi-Fi and find sneaky ways to slow down or otherwise harm the transmission.

A recent ISIF-Asia supported project by Griffith University sought to conduct machine learning cyberattacks on wireless networks so the researchers could better understand what works and what doesn’t, in order to enhance the cybersecurity defences of wireless networks.
