Projects don’t always go according to plan, but often that just means it’s time to re-evaluate the plan.
A recently completed ISIF-Asia supported project by AirJaldi aimed to bring connectivity to parts of rural India and test out a plan for hybrid Wireless-Fiber (WiFiber) network infrastructure. The initial plan targeted the mostly rural state of Arunachal Pradesh, but the team wasn’t sure about the long-term sustainability of maintaining the network if it was located there.
After discussions with the Foundation, Airjaldi shifted the project to Sikkim and West Bengal where conditions were more suitable. The project was able to largely meet its objectives, and WiFiber is now an important part of Airjaldi’s future plans.
