Increase access of women entrepreneurs with disabilities in digital platforms for their economic empowerment

The COVID-19 pandemic had a significant impact on online businesses in Bangladesh. As a result of lockdowns and social distancing measures, many traditional businesses were forced to close, leading to an increased demand for online services and e-commerce platforms.

This proposal aims to address the challenges women entrepreneurs with disabilities face in accessing digital platforms to run their business initiatives.

The project aims to:

  • Conduct an expert assessment of three e-commerce platforms.
  • Share recommendations through a consultations with relevant agencies and e-commerce platforms
  • Conduct a study to identify barriers of women entrepreneurs with disabilities in accessing the e-commerce platforms, and provide professional support to improve accessibility
  • Conduct a 2-day capacity building training with 100 women entrepreneurs with disabilities.
  • Strengthen the existing women entrepreneurs with disabilities forum
  • Provide regular mentorship support to connect women entrepreneurs with disabilities across e-commerce platforms
