Climate change will have far-reaching impacts on the water consumption and sustainability practices of small agricultural communities. Internet of Things (IoT) technology has the potential to help – but in order to plan proper interventions, good quality data is required, along with training that is suited to each village community.
We need to know what works in order to develop resilience in a future affected by climate change.
A recent ISIF Asia-supported project in Timor Leste by Similie tackled all of the above – there’s a detailed technical report as well as a case study available.
Check it all out on the project page – the project was one of the Foundation’s Ian Peter Grants for Internet and the Environment, in memory of Internet pioneer and environmentalist Ian Peter.
