Unlocking the Potential of IPv6: Empowering Schools, Hospitals, and Citizens in City Wide South Tangerang's Digital Transformation

DISKOMINFO TANGERANG SELATAN

South Tangerang City is leading the charge in embracing the next generation of IPv6, by prioritizing its widespread adoption across key community pillars like schools, hospitals, and government offices. This initiative aims to bridge the digital divide, enhance accessibility, and lay the groundwork for a robust digital economy.

This project aims to:

  • Create a clearer understanding of network distribution by creating detailed client location maps. These maps will pinpoint the specific locations of schools, hospitals, and other public services within the city, offering a visual representation of the network's reach.
  • Connect the entire South Tangerang City network to the Internet through a dedicated Internet Service Provider (ISP) connection. This connection will utilize Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) for efficient routing of Internet traffic. To ensure future-proof connectivity, both BGP IPv4 and BGP IPv6 protocols will be activated, allowing the network to seamlessly transition to the next generation of internet protocol (IPv6).
  • Leverage Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) routing protocol on the city-wide network, utilizing both IPv4 and IPv6 simultaneously.
